About The Executive Insight Series ™
The Executive Insight Series™ (EIS) assists high-potential Pan-Asian managers and senior professionals to attain leadership roles in major North American corporations. EIS provides insight into key characteristics, specific behaviors, competencies, and experiences required to reach the executive level. Participants typically have at least 8-12 years of experience and hold manager, senior manager, director, vice-president or pre-executive positions.
DAY 1
INTRODUCTION MODULE: MYTHS OF ASIAN LEADERSHIP
What is preventing Pan-Asians from achieving positions in the C-Suite? This module uncovers what participants can do to overcome these limitations.
YOUR PERSONAL BRAND
What makes you distinctive? This module focuses on why building a personal brand is vital in today's corporate world.
TAKING RISKS
This module focuses on how to take risks without acting recklessly and how to mitigate the risks taken.
DAY 2
POWER & INFLUENCE
This module concentrates on corporate power and influence and what participants need to understand in order to navigate the corporate world effectively.
COMMUNICATING YOUR STORY
This module helps participants learn what critical selling and client relationship skills are needed to be successful in all professions at all levels.
MANAGING UP
This module helps participants understand the importance of their own executive leadership teams and how they can engage those teams to ensure long-term career success.

Wes Hom
Former Vice President & Managing Director, IBM; Co-Developer, Advanced Leadership Program at Stanford University; Vice President of External Affairs & National Board Member, Ascend.
Wes was formerly an IBM Vice President & Managing Director in the Systems and Technology Group with global responsibilities for overall execution of IBM’s high end server investments, strategies, sales and emerging markets initiatives. He held various global line executive positions and was also Executive Assistant in IBM’s corporate office serving the Chairman, Vice Chairman, CEO, President, CFO and SVP of Human Resources. He also chaired IBM’s Asian Diversity group. Today, Wes advises global corporations on business.

Amy Shang
Former HSBC - EVP, Strategic Implementation (Regulation) for North America; Ascend National Board Member.
Amy spent over 20 years in the financial services industry, with significant time spent infront office, support and consulting roles. EVP, Strategic Implementation (Regulation) for HSBC, North America, where she was responsible for coordinating key regulatory responses for the Bank including managing the implementation of the Dodd-Frank legislation. Prior to HSBC, she held positions at Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Bear Stearns, Bank of America and MMG Partners. Amy is a strong advocate for enhancing workplace diversity. While at HSBC, she was a member of US Diversity Council and served as Chairperson to the employee networking group for Asians and Pacific Islanders. Amy holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS from Stanford University.
